It all started in 2010, when local legend Made Sanjaya gave his first surf lesson on the beautiful shores of Bali. Known for his passion and expertise, Made also became the head judge of surfing contests across Bali, Lombok, Java, and Thailand, and served as the contest director for Bukit Boardriders and the Rip Curl Grom Search in Pandawa Beach.

Thirteen years later, in 2023, he started his own surf school and made,s,surf was born. We are proud to be a 100% local company, dedicated to sharing the authentic Balinese surfing experience. At made,s,surf, we honor our rich history and seek to create a deep connection between God, Nature, and Humans through the power of surfing.

Meet Made, the founder of made,s,surf. With many years of professional surf coaching experience and a deep connection to the Balinese coastline, Made is your guide to mastering the waves. As a husband, father and local legend, he brings a unique blend of expertise, passion and spirit to every lesson. With Uluwatu as his favorite surf spot, Made invites you to join him in experiencing the joy and thrill of riding Bali's iconic waves.
Tia
Meet Tia, our powerhouse at made,s,surf. Surfing since she was seven years old, this young surfer from Gianyar has probably already surfed more than most of us will ever get to. She’s a competitive surfer with several contest wins under her belt and an excellent barista when she’s not out on the waves. Her favorite surf spot is Keramas, another world-class wave on the east coast of Bali, featured in the WSL Championship Tour 2019. Tia loves competing as much as she enjoys teaching and sharing her passion for surfing with others.

Gede Merjaya
Meet Gede, one of our dedicated surf coaches at made,s,surf. Gede brings a deep love for the ocean and a wealth of experience to our team. But don´t be fooled by his laid-back nature - once in the water, he loves chasing barrels, pulling off airs and tackling big waves. His favorite surfspots are Dreamland and Nikko Beach. Beyond surfing, he’s into skating, spearfishing, catching sunsets and cruising on his iron horse. Gede is ready to help you improve your surfing while sharing his love for the ocean.
